Summary: In Jan.–Sept. 2023, domestic high titanium slag output went up by 70.11% YoY while output of acid dissolved titanium slag declined by 50.91% YoY.

Statistics showed that China produced around 431,450 tonnes of high titanium slag in Jan.–Sept. 2023, growing by 70.11% YoY from 253,630 tonnes in the same period last year. Specifically, domestic output of high titanium slag reached 139,050 tonnes in Q3 2023, up by 48.35% YoY; in Sept. 2023, domestic high titanium slag output was 45,100 tonnes, rising by 54.45% YoY. The average operating rate of high titanium slag enterprises hit roughly 60% in Q3 2023. Yunnan Province was the largest producing area of high titanium slag in Jan.–Sept. 2023, and the output in this region accounted for around 25.09% of the national total.

In Q1–Q3 2023, domestic output of acid dissolved titanium slag reached around 182,700 tonnes, down by 50.91% YoY from 372,150 tonnes in Q1–Q3 2022. Specifically, China produced approximately 65,000 tonnes of acid dissolved titanium slag in July–Sept. 2023, falling by 27.78% YoY; in Sept. 2023, domestic acid dissolved titanium slag output was 22,900 tonnes, decreasing by 18.51% YoY. The operating rates of domestic acid dissolved titanium slag manufacturers averaged around 33% in Q3 2023. Sichuan Province produced roughly 86.64% of acid dissolved titanium slag during these three months, ranking it the first domestically.
